For the Kid in Me (Legoland, Malaysia)

I can’t express enough how much I’ve been waiting for this day. I don’t know either why it’s only now that I pushed for this trip when it’s only roughly an hour away via bus from Singapore.

Nonetheless, I’m happy I get to experience it with my nephew Yuan to celebrate his 7th birthday!

And so there we were.

Two excited kids (yes, including me)

eager to get to our happy place.

Thank you Mommy Pao for babysitting the avid Lego fans! ๐Ÿ˜€

Imagine that overwhelming momentย when we touched down.

The kid in me was too happy! Two whole days of anything and everything Lego!

DAY 1: Legoland Theme Park

GOPR1134.JPG

It was funny how even before we got on any ride and enjoyed the attractions, we spent a good whole hour going crazy over the merchandise. I had to gather every ounce of energy in my body to control myself from buying everything.

After contemplating, I ended up with theseย top 3 picks:

A pink Lego backpack, a drinking bottle, and a brick desk calendar.

So okay.

Enough shopping, off to go exploring

Though the Driving School was only for kids like Yuan, it didn’t stop me from getting my official Legoland driving license. Wooooo.

Also, what’s a theme park experience without getting unexpectedly wet?

So we had to take a break and use the body dryer.

We ended the day with a cooling sunset dip at the pool of the condo whereย we stayed at.

GOPR1277.JPG

Big shout out to Uncle Dave and Auntie Grace for the heartwarming stay! THANK YOU! (Message me for details for a place to stay at Johor Bahru. It’s 5 minutes away from Legoland, has an awesome view from the balcony, and of course, extremely hospitable hosts!)

Day 2: Legoland Water Park

It was raining cats and dogs that morning but I thank God for the quick change of weather. It turned out rather pleasant just in time when we got there. The rain stopped but it wasn’t hot either. It was cloudy and quite cooling. It was perfect.

They reprimanded me forย taking my GoPro with me down the slides so this was the closest I came to documenting the thrill. Hahaha.

At least I was able to take it with me at the Build-a-Raft river.

It’s a pool with a current

and you can build your own raft (hence the name) using Lego brick floaters! So cute!

I went to Legoland eager and excited like a happy kid.

I ended the experience still feeling eager and excited.

It was a fun-filled experience and the kid in me is genuinely happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

Will I go back? YES. No one is too old to have a dose of fun once in a while.

Reblogged this on Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. and commented:
    Sam,
That was a good write-up on a Legoland adventure for Lego buffs looking to visit this theme park in idyllic Malaysia, specifically in Johor just an hour ride from Singapore.
Two full days of adventure to cover both the rides theme park and the water theme park is just right.
Happy to see that you had a good stay and a good holiday for Mommy Pao and nephew Yuan.
